Technelysium has supplied software for DNA sequencing and analysis since the popular Chromas program was first released in 1996. Our software is intended for projects which do not require large software packages costing thousands of dollars. We have two products:

  • Chromas is a free, simple, easy-to-use viewer and editor for chromatograms (traces) from automated Sanger sequencers. It has many format conversion options including batch processing functions to handle many files at once. As of version 2.6 it can use PeakTrace RP to enhance .ab1 files and extract more high-quality bases (this is a paid service). More…
  • ChromasPro is for assembly of sequence reads into contigs, with a graphical contig editor which displays aligned chromatograms. It also peforms general sequence analysis such as restriction enzyme mapping, open-reading-frame searches, and BLAST submission. More…
